COOPERATIVE THREAT REDUCTION

SASI supports the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency's Cooperative Threat Reduction Program (CTR) to   eliminate nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons of mass destruction in the former Soviet Union. A series of   bilateral agreements between the U.S. and the governments of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other   newly independent states allow the CTR program to assist each nation in these activities. A primary mission of   CTR is to assist the Former Soviet Union (FSU) in transportation, storage, dismantlement, safeguarding or   destruction of weapons of mass destruction. Under these projects, SASI completed the SS-24 Dismantlement Study   in Ukraine and supports the Automated Inventory Control Management System (AICMS) and Personnel Reliability   Program (PRP) in Russia. The AICMS project involves establishment of a strategic control system in the Russian   Federation to track nuclear warheads removed from ICBMs under the START Treaty. Working with the U.S.   Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in cooperation with the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense (MOD),   SASI provides logistics management, equipment acquisition, hardware and software certification, and security   attestation. Under the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), SASI recommends technology and equipment, assists in   acquisition, logistics management, certification, and training. In addition, SASI is working with the MOD and   Russian   civil authorities to develop a comprehensive PRP plan that incorporates training and international   standards for substance abuse testing.
