FOREIGN MATERIEL ACQUISITION AND FOREIGN MILITARY SALES

SASI supports U.S. Foreign Materiel Acquisition (FMA) requirements for test/evaluation, target programs, training exercises, coalition forces, and maintenance of foreign equipment in U.S. inventory. SASI is licensed by the U.S. Department of Treasury, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms as an Importer of Implements of War. Additionally, SASI is registered with the U.S. Department of State, Office of Defense Trade Controls, as an Exporter and Broker of defense articles and services. Working through our offices in Kyiv, Ukraine and Bucharest, Romania and regional partners, SASI maintains relationships with various government agencies, licensed export authorities, original equipment manufactures (OEMs) and research/design institutes throughout Eastern Europe, enabling cooperation across a broad spectrum of defense systems. SASI identifies sources for materiel required, develops acquisition planning studies and milestones, conducts on-site equipment inspections in the source countries, and coordinates all logistics associated with acquisition, shipment, storage, and U.S. and foreign Customs clearance. Additionally, SASI supports repair and maintenance requirements for foreign defense systems in the U.S. inventory. Using our network of foreign depot repair facilities, SASI can export damaged or worn equipment from the U.S. to Eastern Europe for repair, overhaul, or replacement; then import the item back into the U.S. for continued use. Alternatively, SASI is capable of coordinating deployment of foreign repair teams to the U.S., obtaining spare parts and providing operational and maintenance manuals in English or in the original language.
