LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SUPPORT
SASI has demonstrated leadership in the specialized logistics
considerations
of weapons, targets, Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAVs) and ammunition.
SASI
developed a series of Naval logistics support improvements, including
the
development of combat and support readiness measurement strategies,
readiness based spare/repair part
requirements determination methods,
new
logistics and readiness measurement indices, and establishment of the
process for Government (Organic)/Commercial competition and cost
comparison
in accordance with OMB Circular
A76. SASI developed Naval depot
maintenance
planning factors and manning requirements for shore based Intermediate
and
Depot ordnance maintenance activities.
SASI established analytical processes and automated
systems for
estimating
operating support and life cycle costs for use in weapons system design
trade studies, readiness implications, and optimal support system
design and
resource requirements.
SASI logistics studies and products are the result of a commitment to a
continuous business process improvement philosophy that assures that
quality
continues to improve, schedules continue to be met and new ideas
continue to
be proposed. These
methods have been employed in support of DoD
activities
that resulted in process improvements related to organizational
development,
industrial processing, technology forecasting, personnel training,
mission
analysis, workload/business development, and resource requirement
determination methods.
